Filling out a form on the device
In this demo, we'll show you how to fill out a form on the Pocket PC using PocketForms
for Pocket PC software.
We'll create a form by tapping on our O-Ring inspection template then we'll record
visual observations as we examine one of our warehoused assemblies.
This particular form includes three pages which provide a summary with written instructions,
a procedure with fields for recording our observations and entering our signature,
and also a diagram that illustrates where the inspector should look.
We'll start by selecting the procedure page and turning on the handwriting transcriber.
Thanks to the Windows Mobile Operating System, we can enter the serial number using
our own handwriting.
Let's turn off the transcriber and finish off the form by tapping selections.
Our signature will be securely encrypted and may be viewed later along with the
collected data.
By tapping the "completed" option on the Tools menu, we can indicate the form is
ready for synchronization. We'll tap the "Keep Local" option to maintain a local
copy of this form after it has been offloaded.
When we tap the "OK" button, our work is saved, the form is closed and we're ready
to perform another inspection.
Now let's take a look at the form we just filled out by changing the list filter
to display only completed forms. We can tell which form we just filled out by examining
the date and time.
By tapping the form, we'll load it for review. We can make last minute modifications,
if we like, but for this demonstration, we'll close it without any changes.
